Daily Outfit: Graduation Ball

After four amazing days at the beach, we struggled through peak hour traffic to make it home in time for my graduation ball. Wonderful night celebrating with all my fellow teachers!

Black and White theme for the night suited me just fine.

Daily Outfit: Beach Bliss

Ahoy there sailors! I'm back and in fine form.

Who remembers my little stay at the beach? When we, uh, drank lots of wine?

Not many outfits to report (although I did wear clothes) as time was spent doing puzzles and cooking. Hurrah!

Short shorts for sunny days.

December Projects

I asked my friends during my Tour of Friendship what their projects were for December.

Such an exciting month! So much potential!

Here's what I'm planning:
  • CRICKET! I'm heading to the Test Match next weekend with my dad
  • Concerts: You am I, Guns n' Roses, Gorillaz, Samson & Delilah
  • Teaching stuff: job interviews, organising my materials, first aid course, getting registration
  • Xmas funtimes: making biscuits, planning presents, designing cards, spending time with family

Amongst the usual goodness of: bike rides, dinners out, picnics, beers with friends, reading, visiting gardens, cooking, weekends away, playing games and general tomfoolery.

Are you excited about December? I'm looking forward to a much warmer month than last year.

Tour of Friendship

Sorry about the absence as of late my friends! A trip down to the beach was swiftly followed by a week away, visiting my friends in the Eastern states. Such a good time!

Travelling the country in style.

I'm planning on staying put for the rest of the year but there are no guarantees...

My Sunday in 5 Photos

Graphical representation using photos not my own!

Flying back to Adelaide tonight. I've had such an amazing week away! Looking forward to catching up with blogging (amongst a December of FUN!)

Siamese babies.

Got so many daily outfits for you! Ran into Harbour Master yesterday and awkwardly blurted out an "I read your blog". So not me.

Admitted to percussion nervousness amongst Greek food that night. Hmm.

Been hanging out with this cool cat.

Newcastle next! Beach times galore.

Wine time.

Remember how I spent a solid couple of days at the beach last week? We got through a lot of wine. A lot.

Before.

After.

Absolutely no regrets.

Melbourne Tips?

A shout-out to all my lovely Melbourne readers / travellers.

Any places you'd recommend in Melbourne? I've been here many-a-time but haven't done any research as to what's happening this month. Yesterday I blissed out in the State Library, walked around the city and visited ACMI. I sat in a deckchair in Federation Square as the sun thought about setting. Happy day!

'Scuse the sporadic posting as I'm on holiday!

Daily Outfit: Victory! To the beach!

I surprised the manfriend after HIS final exam. French bubbles and a freshly cut rose.

Then we drove to the beach for a few days of R and R.

Happy graduates.

Daily Outfit: Metallica

Master of Puppets! To celebrate the end of uni life, my dad and I saw Metallica rock the Entertainment Centre on Monday night. Fun! Until dad fell asleep...

Daily Outfit: Final Exam

Oh my petals, I'm sorry to have abandoned you all for so long. Unfortunately I'm due to do it again as I fly out to Melbourne tomorrow for a week of frivolity.

The week at the beach was perfect, thank you.

Last Monday I had my final exam ever! Multiple choice madness and many beers at the pub after.

Thank you to Mr McLean for the photography!

Love these dudes.

Congratulations, class of 2010!

Daily Outfit: French Festival

After spending Sunday morning studying, the boy and I rode our bikes up a very steep hill to get to the French Festival.

We listened to music, played petanque, watched cocktail demonstrations, sampled waffles, drank wine and spoke French in the sunshine.

We could see all of Adelaide from up there!

Even he dressed in red, white and blue. Bless.

Satisfied, sunny and slightly tiddly Sequin Cat in the spring sunshine

Now that university's over for the year (YAY! And... forever??) we're off to the beach for a mini break. Back Friday or Saturday before I head off again. November is a busy month!

See you when I get back.

Daily Outfit: Post-Pageant Lunch

Despite feeling really quite unwell after the pageant, I dragged myself out of bed and to lunch with the manfriend's parents.

Hehe

I haven't worn this dress for ages!

Daily Outfit: Thali Room

I foolishly forgot to post my outfit after having dinner with teaching friends last Thursday at the Thali Room. Lovely lovely!

A dog attacked me as I rode my bike there! This is why I don't like dogs.

Pageant

This morning I marched in the Christmas Pageant (we broke a world record!)

It reminded me of working at Disneyland Paris.

If only our uniforms were this cool...

Daily Outfit: Zoo Snooze

The reason I abandoned you all for a few days? On Wednesday I supervised an overnight school stay at the zoo. It was awesome!

Practical clothing isn't really my thing.

Miu Miu Resort 2011

I'm a bit behind the bandwagon (and have been absent for days - soz!) but isn't this collection cute?

Some favourites:

All images from style.com

I just bought some cute black and white polka dot shorts!

Daily Outfit: In bloom

It's finally spring and the roses are out.

Using my bicycle as a tripod!

Oh how I adore my rainbow bike.

Study Music

Anybody else in crunch time?

Kimonos

Because I haven't been getting dressed lately (the joys of final University essays!), things are looking a bit bleak on the Daily Outfit front.

Instead I present to you things that I'd like to wear!

These are old photos but I still like the kimono/dresses that Cameron and Nicole are wearing.

The last time I wore a "kimono"....

Daily Outfit: Interview

My first "proper" job interview last Friday. Fingers crossed!

The battle of the herbs.

Daily Outfit: Thriller?

I only realised as I was racing out the door this morning that my outfit looked very MJ-esque. I blame playing Thriller at band last night for the subconscious inspiration!

Green eyes!

When I wore these sequinned leggings in New York I got some very funny comments... Turns out Adelaide folk don't bat an eyelid! Even on my ridiculous rainbow bicycle!

Musical?

How many of you play a musical instrument? Can read music? Just wondering how common this is.

I've been playing drums since a young age and currently play in a concert band. I wish I had space in my bedroom to set up my drumkit but it's currently disassembled in the corner. Perhaps when I move out I'll have more room...

Op shop unhappiness

Faithful followers will recognise that I'm an avid op-shopper/thrifter. I wear secondhand something every day! This is not an act of intention, unlike the charming Recycled Rose - it just happens that a significant portion (much more than half!) of my wardrobe has had past lives.

Can you imagine my dismay today when I headed to an old faithful opshop (in a musty church hall with ladies discussing the biscuits they ate for morning tea [true story] and items of clothing for 50c) and found that prices had risen horrendously? Valleygirl dresses costing $8? Stained shirts costing $6? Second-hand synthetic leather shoes costing $15? WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO???

I didn't walk away empty-handed though. I just miss the good old days (and still don't have any more money to spend than when I was young).

Daily Outfit: Layer upon layer

WHY IS IT STILL SO COLD IN ADELAIDE? It's November! Far out.

Not impressed at having to wear so many clothes. It made going to the doctor's particularly difficult. Although I do look pretty happy in the second photo so I suppose it can't be all bad.

Think warm thoughts for me, folks!

Just a Minute in October

Are we too far into November to look back on the month that was?

Reading... at a slower rate than usual. Curse end of uni stress! I read some classics: Breakfast at Tiffany's and Miss Pettigrew lives for a day and some nouveaux classics, haha: The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials Trilogy) and Gossip Girl..... Also reading feedback on assignments and prac teaching. Golden!

Listening... to CDs from my youth as my Dad lost his iTunes. Beats at Parklife. People making too much noise talking in lectures!

Watching... movie adaptations of stories, the ever-changing sky, the calendar days float away, Season 16 of the Amazing Race (generally dull, but they did go to France).

Buying... the occasional red wine.

Wanting... the job that I'm interviewing for on Friday, warmer weather (comme d'hab!), assignment stress to be over for both myself and the manfriend, something new in my wardrobe.

Cooking... more like reheating! I found a delicious risotto in the freezer that we cooked a month or two ago. I plan to make pizza again from scratch now that we've purchased some yeast. I've not been eating out much but I don't think I've been cooking much either.... cheese and biscuits (and wine, bien sur)

Making... mega plans for this summer!

Loving...
all the roses that are in bloom at the moment - have you seen them? Blue cheese. Sunny days with my cat outside. Riding my bike (even through the gloom). Chocolate freckles. Getting good marks. My four-coloured pen. Wearing fun stockings. Getting on top of my blogreader. Holiday planning.

Oh October, I had high hopes that you'd bring me a bit of sunshine and warmth. WHERE IS THE LOVE?

Hope you've all had marvellous months!

Daily Outfit: Finally I'm dressed

After a few days madly essay-writing, I finally got dressed to whizz in to town (handing my assignment in) and out again (tutoring).

So good to get out of the house...

Wednesday Wrap-up

Seems like I missed a week of news. So what's been happening since last time?

Basically, a whole lot of busyness. I've been observing at schools, applying for jobs, teaching, finishing uni, pumping out assignments and essays and having a bit of fun too.

Such as my friend's bike shop opening on Friday night. Such as catching up with friends from Melbourne for wine on Saturday night. Such as riding around the city. Such as doing a spot of shopping. Such as visiting libraries. Such as study dates with manfriend.

I've been keeping under the radar but I'm still about.

MORE FUN NEXT WEEK!

Not sequins but...

an awesome Japanese business cat.
